Nestled high in the Himalayan ranges of Uttarakhand, the Valley of Flowers National Park is an ethereal paradise renowned for its stunning meadows of endemic alpine flowers and diverse flora. History

The Valley of Flowers remained largely unknown to the outside world until 1931 when three British mountaineers, led by Frank S. Smythe, stumbled upon it after a climbing expedition. Enchanted by its beauty, Smythe later wrote a book titled 'The Valley of Flowers,' bringing this hidden gem to international attention. Locally, it was believed to be the dwelling place of fairies by the Bhotia community. In 1982, the area was declared a National Park, and in 2005, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, partly due to its unique alpine flora and exceptional natural beauty. It was traditionally known as 'Bhyundar Valley.' The park is part of the larger Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, emphasizing its ecological significance and the need for its preservation for future generations.
