Sonbhadra is the second-largest district of Uttar Pradesh by area and is often called the "Energy Capital of India" due to its numerous thermal and hydroelectric power plants. Located in the southeastern part of the state, the district is rich in minerals, forests, rivers, and natural resources. It shares borders with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
